Random facts about me: Personal projects

All this is past now, but I didn't have the time to update this webpage. Try next week.

I'm currently working in my term project for me to graduate in my computer science course at UNISINOS, a university in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, in the south of Brasil, which is also the place I live and work, at least for now. My project's subject is natural language processing, and it is intended to take this entire year (2008). I'm advised by professors Sandro Rigo (UNISINOS) and Renata Vieira (PUCRS). Last year I worked in my term project for information systems' course. This project's subject was accessibility in GNU/Linux desktop, and I was advised by prof. Sandro Rigo. You'll probably be able to know more about both projects at my classes page

Work

At the same time, I also work at my family's company, Dez Informática, as a programmer, analyst, interface and database designer, and still a junior "chimarrão" maker.

Research

I also started working as an undergraduate research assistant at PUCRS, which is not the university where I study (yet). I'm advised by Profa. Renata Vieira, in the natural language processing area. My Lattes CV can be accessed here (portuguese-only, didn't like their english translation): http://buscatextual.cnpq.br/buscatextual/visualizacv.jsp?id=K4276419H6.

Interests

I don't have a favorite color, but I prefer blue to red, black to white and green to brown. I guess my favorite flowers are tulips (with orchideas and lillies coming in a close second), but I think roses and daisies are okay, too. I love grapes, strawberries, mellon and nuts -- and just can't stand mangoes or papayas. I hate beer and love wine. I like nearly all types of music (classical, rock, pop, metal, some electronic), but simply hate trash-anything, death-anything and, gha, brasilian nowadays pop music. But OK, I won't question your right to call that, music.

And last but not least...

I have a gorgeous, fun, brilliant (and perhaps a bit spoiled) little sister, the most brilliant, sweet and lovely boyfriend in the world, a lazy lazy lazy cat, a colorful toy centipede (and two frogs, a little sun and my first car -- which is a toy, if you haven't realized it yet), a not very often played electric keyboard, less books, cds and dvds than I would like to have, a lot more projects than I can handle, less regrets than maybe I should have, and the perfectly right amount of dreams, some of them being fullfiled and some being replaced by new ones. And life's good, no matter what I say when bored or frustrated.
